As a small business Mesa Field Services strives to provide individualized professional attention to our clients. Due to both the scope of work and the complexity of managing cultural resources we understand archaeological review can be one of the more substantial parts of the environmental process. As a result, we offer a range of services to assist in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations concerning cultural resources as diverse as archaeological sites, historic districts, and traditional cultural or religious properties.
We have a professional staff permitted to work on state and federal lands throughout Nevada. Our capabilities include archival research and historic context development, literature searches and feasibility studies, archaeological inventory with GPS and GIS capabilities, monitoring, damage assessments, test excavation, and full site mitigation including a range of analysis expertise.
As a small business we offer a personalized service often lacking with larger environmental companies that offer a large range of environmental services with a corporate infrastructure and substantial overhead. By staying small and concentrating on cultural resource management our knowledgeable staff is able to offer an individualized approach enabling them to be more focused on your project needs at an affordable cost.
Excavation (mitigation)
We understand site mitigation can be one of the more complex and expensive tasks involved in the environmental review process. Our business excels at archaeological excavations or site mitigation, often the last step in obtaining final clearance for your project on public lands. We are able to expedite site mitigation by obtaining the most information from the archaeological record at the lowest possible cost while at the same time providing a wealth of data for regional cultural histories to the satisfaction of government administrators.
To keep project costs down and to expedite the research process Mesa Field Services avoids subcontracting experts to fulfill required analysis as much as possible. We provide our own interpretation of site formation processes, as well as stone tool, ceramic, and archeo-botanical (subsistence) analysis.
